Plex on Synology NAS can't find server after password change

Hi. I changed my Plex user login and checked the box so it would log out all devices. But when I logged in to the account again with the new password the server could not be found. It just says the server can’t be found but Plex will try to connect again.

I’m running the Plex server from my Synology NAS. I have tried to stop the package and start it again but nothing works?

You may have to do this. edit entries in preferences.xml file https://support.plex.tv/articles/204281528-why-am-i-locked-out-of-server-settings-and-how-do-i-get-in/

I can’t do that because my Plex is on a NAS server. The article is only for Windows, Mac or Linux?

All NASs run some custom version of linux. Your nas install has a preferences.xml file which is in the Plex Media Server data folder on your NAS. ( link to locations are on that same page) Stop the server, edit those four values in that file, then start the server up again. then in the web app it should ask you to claim the server again

If I may add to BigWheel’s reply,

On Synology,

The Preferences.xml file is found in the Plex share.

Plex/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Preferences.xml

If you do not see the Plex share, Control Panel - Shared Folders - EDIT the Plex share - Permissions - Add your username with R/W permission.

I have done as BigWheel said but now it ask me to download the Plex app and it is searching for the server ind the left top corner?

I got it! Sorry! For the last part of BigWheels link I used the wrong local IP, got the right one and was able to claim my server back!

Thank you so much for the help!
