Guys, this is a help post, After installing Plex on Synology. A lot of people get Server not found when they go to http://nasIp:32400/web.
This is whats happening, at least in my case.
In the following directory that Plex server creates
/Plex/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server
There is a file called Preferences.xml
It has two fields
PlexOnlineUsername
PlexOnlineMail
these fields have an email address, say yourEmail@gmail.com
If you sign into the UI with some other email address, the Plex UI gets a bunch on unauthorized requests from the Plex server running on your synology. Then it gives the wrong error message that server is not found, where in fact, it doesn’t like the email address difference between your Plex login and the one found in Preferences.xml.
stopping server, changing file with your Plex login doesn’t seem to work at all, the email address just reverts back to whatever it was when you shutdown the server.
In my case, creating a new plex id with exact same email as found in this file fixed the problem.
I would say this is a bug in Plex, its debatable.
Admins, its you can make this a sticky or at least have some sort of a KT article, this will help a lot of frustrated users.
