Getting No Soup For you Error, followed guide to Edit Preferences.xml. none of that info is in my Perferences.xml

Server Version#: 1.18.9.2571
Player Version#:

I’m running a Synology NAS I just reset to factory, this is the first thing I installed. Logging into my account I get the no soup for you error. I’ve removed all authorized devices, and am trying to set up a new server.

I’ve tried deleting the Preference.xml did nothing. My Preferences.xml has stuff like MachineIdentifier and anonymousMachineIdentifier, nothing like

  • PlexOnlineHome="1"
  • PlexOnlineMail="jane@example.com"
  • PlexOnlineToken="**REDACTED-BY-MODERATOR**"
  • PlexOnlineUsername="ExampleUser"

To edit. Am I missing something here?

Which guide did you use?

Why am I locked out of my server

I followed the linux section as it was the closest to Synology

May I suggest you read through the Syno FAQ.

I have two procedures there; one ‘stronger’ than the other. Both tailored exactly to Synology.

Sorry I may be dense. I’ve tried the changes passwords, open incognito and sign back in, that did not fix it. However, I do not see the second option.

Edit I found it. Had to run the Linux shell for it to work. Thanks!

Kyle,
There are two forms, one being more brutal than the other.

This one has shown to be more successful given most of the issues are caused by networking glitches.
