I’ve not changed my Plex config running on my Synology since I built it a year or so ago. Last night I wanted to watch a movie that I had in my library but it said “Unavailable”. Instead I just browsed to the network location and played the movie using Media Player.
Today I circled back and tried getting my library to work. I double checked the permissions and the Plex user has Read / Write. I even added the Plex user to the Admin group. Still no dice. I deleted and recreated the libraries in their original paths, again no luck. Lastly I tried creating all new shares, moved all my movies to the new share, ensured the path had the correct permissions set, updated the library paths for movies and tv shows and it’s still not scanning.
I’m not sure what the issue is and would really appreciate some help.

With DSM 7, the Plex username changed from Plex to PlexMediaServer. It is also a system internal user (new for DSM 7).
Give PlexMediaServer read only or read/write permissions to your media folders.

With DSM 7.x, the user Plex is no longer needed by Plex Media Server and can be removed from your system if desired.
