Hauppauge Tuner: 955Q NTSC/ATSC/QAM HD TV Tuner
I recently purchased the Synology 220+ new with DSM 7 and have been trying to get the Plex Server to recognize the Hauppauge Tuner. Nothing I have tried seems to make a difference. The tuner is confirmed to work in another device and the DSM 7 OS recognizes that a Hauppauge device has been connected to a USB port. I have purchased Plex PASS and gone to the screens to identify the Tuner. The app does not detect the tuner.
All of the documentation that I can find says that these two devices are compatible and others have successfully connected the 955Q to Plex using the DS220+. I don’t see a specific topic on this configuration and can’t find an answer that works.
I suspect a permissions issue or a driver and could use some help with troubleshooting.
USB devices (Wi-Fi dongle, Bluetooth dongle, 3G/4G dongle, USB DAC/speaker, and DTV dongle) are no longer supported. If your Synology NAS is currently connected via a wireless dongle, it will be disconnected after the update.
Thanks. I had seen that and knew it to be an issue. However, the NAS is picking up the device and can see it. I have seen some adaptations that some are making to the dsm os and am not willing to dig that deep in to the code.
You’re going to have to get a network tuner instead of a USB one. I dont think that the drivers for these USB devices are present in the OS anymore.
I use a HD Homerun, but mine is ancient, so I would not be able to advise on purchasing - however I think they make one with 4 tuners in it now, and have been threatening to upgrade.
