Plex on Windows Home Server 2011

Hi there, I have set up Plex on my WHS 2011 server but the system cannot find the servers. Nor can I add servers, the system keeps “looking for servers”.

I have tried finding the registry entries for Plex but they do not seem to be there, at least not the one’s suggested for removal in the article. Suggestions would be welcome.

Windows Home Server 2011 is out of support by Microsoft. Search Product and Services Lifecycle Information - Microsoft Lifecycle | Microsoft Learn

Plex does not support Windows Home Server 2011, and soon will not support Windows 7 or Server 2008r2. You need to install a newer operating system.

When running on Windows, the following operating system versions are supported:

Windows 7 SP1 / Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1
Windows 8 / Windows Server 2012
Windows 8.1 (with Update) / Windows Server 2012 R2 (with Update)
Windows 10
