Plex Pass Lifetime - for each user???

A few months ago I purchased this and thought I could start setting up my kids with parental controls (hurray) - but I’m guessing the Plex Pass is per user? I realize it works in house - but I wanted to allow my kids to stream while we were on vacation from our server - and it told me they had to be subscribers? Is this correct, or am I missing something? If it’s correct - is there a “family” subscription or something similar to allow for discounting of multiple accounts?

If you have the Plex Pass (which is associated with the server), you can create them as managed users (in a 'Plex Home) OR you can have them create Free accounts. With free accounts, you can share to then at the library level. If your media is segregated by Library name, this is an equally effective control mechanism.

Assuming you created free plex accounts for them, and they were trying to stream from a mobile device using the Plex app …

To avoid having to buy the Plex app for their devices you would need to create a Plex Home and then add their account to the Plex Home. Doing this would avoid having to purchase the apps for their devices.

Members of a Plex Home receive most benefits of a Plex Pass subscription. This means that members of the Home—whether a Managed User or a regular Plex Account—can make use of Plex Pass features based on the admin’s Plex Media Server.
For example, once the admin account of the Plex Home (or another non-Managed User member) signs in to a Plex app to activate it, it’s possible to quickly switch to any other member of that Plex Home. This can be used to provide members of the Home free access to Plex apps that a subscription brings, for instance.
