I’m new to Plex I’ve had Plex pass for less than 1 month. I have Nvidia Shield I have a 100 megabytes download 30 megabyte upload,wired connection. All’s I want to do is record two news programs in the morning two programs in the afternoon. I have homerun connect quad . I have not gotten through oneday where Plex pass has done its job probably. Either it doesn’t record this or it doesn’t record that. Last night I thought it worked ,it recorded 14 minutes of a one-hour program. Fail again .Any suggestions would be helpful. I don’t know why I should pay for something that just doesn’t work and is undependable. It is totally random sometimes it’ll record this sometime it will record that. There is no pattern it just seems to do what it wants
First “Plex Pass” is required for recording TV and many other things BUT it does not give you any special privileges or access. Your Plex Pass performs no functions at all, it just provides access to some functionality.
Next you must help the plexperts on here to help you by including more details.
I know you have a Shield but you did not say which Shield it was.
You also need to include details of the exact nature of the failure and any error messages and you need to create the failure then include logs from right after the failure.
Get Plex logs
While I cannot help directly as I do not use Plex’s recording feature the people that can, and there really are quite a few, need more from you in order to help.
As the problem is related to the Live TV feature and not Plexpass, you should consider putting a question like this in the correct place.
It’s sadly become a real issue of people just complaining that “things are broken why should I pay for this” without giving enough information about exactly WHAT is broken where. The more information you give, the more likely it is that you’ll get help.
First of all I’m not complaining I’m just explaining my situation to try to figure out what the problem is. I am new to Plex I have Plex pass for 3 weeks now. I have a shield 16 GB with an SSD Samsung 525 GB mated to The Shield. My signal strength to my antenna is 100% I know it’s not that. about log files again I’m new to this there are a lot of things I don’t know I watched a lot of YouTube videos. The system is definitely not Plug and Play. Last night I cleared everything out cleared my catch reformatted my SSD to start over again. I will try again. About log files I’m going to have to figure that one out. Again I’m not complaining I’m trying to work out a problem. I also know my situation is nothing new I have Scan through these forums and seen many people with these problems. I would just like to get this thing working properly if that is possible.
I’m not complaining and I never said why should I pay for this so why should I pay for that. Of course if this don’t work who would psy for it. This isn’t a money issue. As far as me posting in the correct area of the Forum. The first time I ever posted here give me a break

Unfortunately I can’t help you with your issue specifically as Live TV isn’t even supported in my region, so I tried helping with more generic suggestions.

This is not entirely true. I have huge issues with live TV running in Plex (and live channels for that matter), however my hdhomerun runs multiple times better. It’s a hassle keeping my media in one app (Plex) and watching live TV in another but I’m hoping for a un update that can change this. And for dvr’ing… Forget about it. I have a Plex pass already why buy hdhomerun’s service on top of it… One or the other. I’m holding on to Plex for now eithery wlthey will work the bugs out or someone else will come out with something g better and I will move on, Its what most people do.
Tldr: yes it can be buggy but I have hope.
