Hello, I wanted to know if my friend needs to have Plex pass in order to view my library? on his devices, you can see a few minutes of a movie then it will ask him to activate? I have a Plex Pass for myself but I was not sure if he needs one to view my library.
No. Absolutely not.
There is a one time purchase for the app on mobile devices. This is per account linked to one of the many online app stores. Apple, Android, Amazon, etc…

Remember though, your friend will still need to do the one time purchase to use it pass a minute.
If they don’t want to do that then they can use any browser(we ain’t talking Netscape Navigator) to stream without the limit.
Haha! So far it’s working okay he is watching it on PS4 now. He will try again on other devices to make sure it’s working.
Only the mobile apps have the timeout.
