Plex playback issue using wireless router

Hi,

Recently I’ve bought a new router Asus RT-AC88u/AC3100 to extend my coverage (Dead zones) for my Plex server to stream through out my home.

But it seems to be causing Plex app to crash or stutter during playback on my Nvidia shield and Samsung Galaxy S7 and Tablet A10.1.

Because when I switch it back to my modems WiFi it work fine without stuttering during Direct play on Nvidia Shield or 20 mbps transcodes on my mobile devices.

Could this be related to port forwarding or any other technical issues?

Any help on this would be great.

You could get plex logs from the server and from the android app on the galaxy from using the two setups and we can then compare and see how requests are coming through to the server. I presume with the extra router you ended up with two subnets

So first ensure debug logging is enabled on the server

when you notice the problem, collect the logs from server and plex phone app

For server logs see

For plex android app log see

And then repeat the test without the extra router and capture the logs

It would best to do each of the two tests after a fresh relaunch of the plex media server

Thanks for the logs. Looking at the two logs, it must be a networking issue and not a Plex issue

Playback is Direct Play so no PMS transcoding
Compare the KBytes/Second
