8.26.0.28833 also seemed to fix the forever-spinner on start (although only one day data point), however, getting pretty severe jerking and chopping of 4k HDR content with it. Any other suggestions?
EDIT: actually, maybe that was related to losing all my other settings after trying to resolve the problem with a factory reset. The rest of this message still applies
I’m kinda shocked at how broken the plex-on-shield situation seems to be right now given that it seems to be the premier platform for enthusiasts
I happened to know one Plex employee from another post. Hi @BigWheel can you maybe please take a look at playback issue for HDR10+ content? Thank you in advance!
Would need to see the android logs and the server logs after playback is attempted to see what is going on. If only particular files then likely will need to see the plex media info xml for the file as well.
Hello @coop3r ,
Maybe you have the same problem as me.
I have the lastest version of Plex media palyer on NVIDIA SHILED TV Pro (2019) and when I try to play .mkv HEVC movies with Dobly TRUEHD Atmos audio, that doesn’t work plex is continuously charging with error message.
But If play the same movie or others with DTS, DTS-HD MA, AC3, EAC3 it works well !
Tht’s why I don’t understand …
I have the latest version of Plex Media Sever on my NAS and latest version of Plex Media Player on my Shield TV PRO.
Best as I can tell my issue is specific to HDR10+ playback/fallback to HDR10, as the stuff that won’t play for me generally has EAC3 5.1 rather than TrueHD.
I haven’t actually had any problems with specific audio streams and everything seems to work fine in that regard. (Passed through Bitstream over HDMI to Sonos ARC)
