Plex Player available via PMS skips, HTPC is flawless

I researched issues around the web player skipping on some movies but not others for months, with a lot of frustration… including searching the forums here and on reddit. Until someone told me in person I might look for a windows app …

I would prefer to use the plex website to play media on my pc, but am certainly ok with using a windows app. I find it curious though that the website isn’t as developed as the app.

In any case, I wonder if you might put a link to the desktop app into the plex media server somewhere so if someone only installs PMS and starts to use the website, that they’d have a chance to learn about the app for windows, and that it is the preferred player solution.

From your description, it sounds like you are having some playback issues when using the web page. This is due to the media stack in the browser and the web page isn’t able to fix deficiencies in this media stack. In contrast, Plex for Windows and Plex HTPC use MPV for its media stack which is able to handle far more than the media stack in a browser.
