I’ve had a new laptop for the last half a year, the Dell XPS 17 9710 and I have tried to put the plex player on this device multiple times, but whenever I do the performance is awful.
The UI is buggy, stuttering, unresponsive, and occasionally the whole program just hangs, and needs to be force closed.
I’ve tried this on other laptops that run well, and on both TVs in the house it works great, so I’m not sure why my laptop is not playing ball?
Has anyone got ideas?
Having the same issue on a Dell laptop (XPS13), and I’'ve only had issues for a few months, so I suspect there’s something Dell puts in the OS or drivers that doesn’t play nice with Plex.
Haven’t had a response from the Plex ninjas though, not even pointers as to where we could look.

I’m glad to not be the only one! Dell seem to be very slow to release fixes at the moment, I guess because of the transition to Windows 11. Hope we get a fix soon… if that is the issue.

Yep, same problem on multiple machines. The UI rendering seems to not have a frame rate cap. it uses 100% of the igpu in my 10th and 11th gen intel laptops while just sitting on the home screen.
it even uses 25% of my RTX 3080 Ti … which is ridiculous for a static image of the home screen.
Once the video is playing the overlay seems to have the same effect. its TERRIBLE.
