Plex Player Not Able to Stream Video on MacOS Catalina

Hi,

I run Plex Server on a Synology NAS. I then connect to the server using Plex Player on my Mac which is running MacOS Catalina. Version numbers are above.

I’m having a problem where I can’t play any files on the Plex Player. This is because they are inaccessible as you can see below. I’m having the same issue with the Plex web interface.

After some digging online I saw that others had solved similar issues by enabling Plex Player access to network volumes in the MacOS Security and Privacy pane. On my computer, Plex does not appear to have requested these rights and I don’t have the option to add a new program to the list.

I did not have this issue previously. It may be linked to updated to MacOS Catalina but I’m not sure.

Any ideas on how I can resolve this?

I hadn’t considered that it could be a NAS setup issue as it had worked for years previously :slight_smile:
