My plex player (firestick 4k) updated and then it couldn’t connect to my plex server (pi 4). A google search suggested a reinstallation of the player so I uninstalled and reinstalled it.
Now it thinks I don’t have a plex media server associated with my account. On ‘Your Media’ on the dashboard t tells me to add media to plex with instructions on how to download PMS.
The Plex player on my LG TV is still signed into my account and it is still connected to my server and playing fine.
I have a firestick 4k upstairs that appears to have the same problem although I haven’t tried a reinstallation but it can’t connect to the server. I have just installed a plex player on my laptop (win 10) and I have the same problem with it.
I can’t find a solution by google or a search on plex forum and I’m stuck. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Please provide the logs from the Plex app on the Fire TV. Android, Android TV, Fire TV Logs | Plex Support
I don’t even know how to do that.
Hi, I just installed Plex Server on my Macbook, and the app on my Fire TV stick and have the same problem, the app says my Macbook is currently unavailable. I turned off my VPN, logged out and back in on both devices and still have the problem. I’ve attached my log files.Plex Media Server Logs_2020-06-10_12-07-12.zip (3.4 MB)
@sorbiegunner Log into Plex on your server, in the menu on left, scroll down to MANAGE|Troubleshooting. You will see a button for Download Logs.
My problem is different in that my plex players on both firestick and windows laptop think I don’t have a plex server on my account. My plex player on LG TV is working fine on the same account.
My mistake, I should have paid more attention when I read your post.
No problem, hope you get it
sorted out
Plex Media Server Logs_2020-06-10_18-14-10.zipattachment (4.9 MB) Log as requested, thanks for looking into this.
I need the log from the app. Read the article I linked to. It has instructions on how to obtain that log.
fsticklog.txt (194.1 KB)
hope this is what you need. There’s a lot of it.
Your logs show that the app is trying to reach your server at 192.168.1.27 and 192.168.1.28. Both times, your server is reporting the connection is unauthorized. This could mean that your Pi somehow got signed into another Plex account. Check your Pi.
Thank you very much I don’t think I could have found that. For some reason my Pi had 2 IP addresses IPv4 was 138 and IPv6 was 27. I have assigned a static IPv4 of 27 and switched IPv6 off and everything is now working. At least everything I have tried is working and Plex is working.
My worry is that I may have created more problems further down the line. And also what corrupted it in the first place.
But, Thanks again and fingers crossed.
maybe 1 pi address is wired and the other is WiFi?
IP v6 addresses are much larger, it can’t be 192.168.1.28.
My router was showing the 2 IP addresses as v4 and v6 so I don’t really know except that it is now working fine and the Pi now is only showing 1 IP address (assigned static .27) and IPv6 switched off.
So, I know you are right about the form of v6 addresses but none the less I’m happy with the solution at the moment. As I said above; fingers crossed.
