Plex player on raspi has no 5.1 output over hdmi

I have followed the plex player audio config guide and still cannot get 5.1 passthrough to work on plex media player. The ps4 app handles the pass through without issue. Raspi pmp only sends PCM 2 channel to the receiver. How can i change that to 5.1?

Edit: I read that this could fix the issue.

Show Advanced Settings/Exclusive

However this setting does not exist in the plex media player most recent build.
