Plex preferences / db location

I am running a Plex server on an Odroid Hc2 (debian arm v7) running openmediavault

OMV says my db is located in ‘/srv/dev-disk-by-label-plex/plexmediaserver’ and this setting is greyed out so it cant be changed. when i look there the newest date on any file is 11/24. I had to reinstall plex a few day ago and rebuild all the libraries so those file dates cant be current. which leads me to my question where is the database. How do I back it up so i can update plex without rescanning all my libraries.

I am NOT a linux guru and I am sure there is a way to do thi but I don’t know it.

Thanks for your help.

I hate to tell you but I can’t help you with OMV.
I suggest you ask in the OMV forums for the basic admin skills.
Once you have OMV managed, I can help you with the rest of PMS.

Just to add a quick google i found this: https://forum.openmediavault.org/index.php/Thread/20014-What-is-the-plex-database-volume-and-folder-Why-cant-I-select-system-volume/

If that does not help my suggestion is to search the forum there or open a post.

If you have shell access you could try to find the the service start usually /etc.init.d/plex…something
that file usually tels you where it saves and looks.

But as i quickly scanned that topic it looks like they place it on a different volume to protect it so it might be you don’t need to backup it but when reinstalling it will save the data (THIS IS A ASSUMPTION).

So hopefully this gets you pointed in the right direction good luck.
