PLEX PS3 APP Keeps telling me "No Media Servers Found"

I decided to go ahead and purchase a Plex Pass so I can use the Plex App on my PS3.  But I'm getting the same error message "No Media Servers Found".  I'm able to use Plex on my phone, Samsung Smart TV, as well as my notebook.  I've attempted doing the plex/tv passcode process 4 times but the PS3 App is still giving me the same error message.  Has anyone found a fix for this issue?  Plex is running fine on all my other devices.

I've uninstall/reinstalled the Plex App on my PS3 but the issue is still there.

Please help!

is your server connected?  pretty sure it needs to be for the PS3 app to work

My PMS is connected and let’s me access videos remotely, on my phone, and in the web browser. Family members can remotely access my server with their computers.

That being said, the PS3 on my local network gets the same error: “server not found”. The PS4 works fine and so do all the other local computers and devices. The PS3 is also signed into PSN and plays games online just fine.

Hi @macsobel. Is it possible the computer running PMS is connected to a VPN? The PS3 app is configured to connect to Plex Media Servers a little differently than the PS4.

Plex Media Servers send their LAN and WAN IPs to plex.tv. When the app starts we use this information to find servers to connect to. On the PS3 we only use LAN IPs which were sent to plex.tv from the same WAN IP that the PS3 has. This works well except when PMS is on a computer running a VPN. The WAN IP of this computer is the VPN IP, not your home WAN IP that the PS3 uses.

Could this be it?

i just hit the same problem. thing is i have a lot of devices. now i have plex on a ps4. works fine. got it for ps3 did not work on my server. HOWEVER. my buddy that has not updated his server. his content is working fine on my ps3.

so im thinking the ps3 plex has not been updated for the newest patch?

EDIT: found out what was wrong. turned out that the ps3 was logged into the routers “guest” network. PMS does not like playing from the guest network my local content.
