As the title says, it would appear the plex client update that was recently rolled out has broken AC3 audio on PS4. An issue identical to one we saw back in July '17. Curious if anyone else has experienced this since the new client update.

Upon further testing, it would appear since the latest Plex server update and the PS4 client update. The PS4 Plex app upon boot instantly drops the PS4 from outputting digital surround, be it Dolby or DTS down to Prologic.
Everything from AC3, right upto DTSHD-MA now simply plays in lossy prologic. My server and PS4 played and streamed the corret audio fine before the updates.

Dont worry, its being looked into, Plex notified us in another post that they’re aware of the issue. May take awhile to sort though. The fix itself from plex maybe quick but Sony/Microfsoft have a certification process before any patchs for games and apps can be rolled out. Which can soemtimes take awhile.

I also lost 5.1 AC3 audio with the Plex app version 4.1.1 on the PS4. Hope it gets fixed soon. Thank you.
