Hey! I’m having a crazy issue and I feel like I’m going insane. Plex seems to have no idea how to adhere to it’s own naming scheme. How do I fix this? The files are located at.
/PLEX/anime/name of the anime/Season 01/Name of the anime - s01e01 - 1991.mkv
It’s a short 3 episode thing that’s a little obscure and in the app it keeps putting the episodes in the order of 1 and 3 in season 1 and episode 2 in season 2. They all have the same naming scheme. And if I turn off putting them in seasons it just puts them in 1 → 3 → 2 for the order. What am I doing wrong?

Correct?
Anything fancy about the anime name that might throw Plex off?
Correct. That’s exactly how it’s laid out. I’m getting that with both “Cyber City Oedo 808” and “Mystery of the Necronomicon.” Both spelled exactly like that.
You don’t have a delimiter between the TV show name and the SxxExx specifier.
If you rename one as Cyber City Oedo 808 - S01E03 - 1990.mkv and then “Dance” the episode, it will be a better score.
I believe the problem here is the “808” in the name coming before the SxxExx and the absence of a delimiter to tell the scanner where the name actually ends.
Just tried adding the deliminators and it seems to still be doing it after a rescan. Missed that on Oedo. But the other one is doing it too and it’s always had the deliminators. Is there not a way to override it by setting the episode numbers in a meta tag somewhere or something? I always end up having this issue with plex and end up needing to just use file folder shares and VLC so it plays in the right order.
It’s strange to me too. Because ones you’d think it’d have a problem with just worked fine. It’s these ones that should be way easier it’s having issues with. I mean. Look at how I have Robot Carnival setup, and it has zero issue with it.
