Combined first two episodes, but plex makes episode 3 into episode 2 anyway

I have named the files as such:

Star Trek - The Next Generation/Season 01/Star Trek - The Next Generation - S01E01-E02 - Encounter at Farpoint {thetvdb-71470} - [1080p BluRay 58FA97C3].mp4

Star Trek - The Next Generation/Season 01/Star Trek - The Next Generation - S01E03 - The Naked Now {thetvdb-71470} - [1080p BluRay D837587F].mp4

For some reason plex is listing E03 as E02 and every episode thereafter is off by one. It’s listing the first two episodes as being 1 hr 31 minutes. Only the combined E01-E02 is that long.

I have removed the whole season, cleaned bundles and optimized the DB and re-added the season to no avail.

I believe the files are named according to plex standards.

I would appreciate any advice. Thank you.

Looking at Info for the Season I see something odd. Plex has created two links to the same file.

In addition, should {thetvdb-71470} be {tvdb-71470} and shouldn’t it also be at the top level series folder rather than individual episodes ?

Most likely not related to this issue as it appears to be ordering as per @VBB post but its certainly not per the plex naming guidelines and may (or may not if your lucky) cause other problems.

I’m having a similar issue with TNG S1 E1 & E2, as well as Enterprise S1 E1 & E2, but oddly enough not with Voyager S1 E1 & E2.

All three series have a 2-part (aka feature-length) Series opener which are listed as Episodes 1 & 2.

Looks to me as if you have the order set to DVD, like here https://thetvdb.com/series/star-trek-the-next-generation/seasons/dvd/1. Change it to Aired either at the series level or for the entire library, if you want the episodes to show up like this https://thetvdb.com/series/star-trek-the-next-generation/seasons/official/1.

Click on the dots next to the library → manage library → edit → advanced → episode ordering

Actually, never mind. That only differentiates between TMDB and TVDB.

I guess it only exists for each show individually.

The default (for the entire library) should be “aired”, though.

Thank you. I set this all up to be renamed using FileBot way back at the beginning of this feature for TV shows. I think at that time it was “thetvdb”? In any case I have changed it now.
