Plex randomly started telling me I need the remote pass

I’ve been using Plex for years. And I’ve had little issue with it .

It has decided to randomly claim I need the remote watch pass to watch stuff on my PC, that is connected to the same WiFi as my television.

Absolutely nothing has changed. Zero.

Why is it not recognising my PC and TV as being on the same local network? I am able to watch stuff through the native Windows Media Server. I prefer using Plex for the interface etc.

Here we are collecting various tips, which could help those users who are only using Plex within their home network, but see the message from the title anyway. when using virtualization/containers for the server, use “Host networking”. If you use “Bridge” instead, a layer of NAT will be inserted, which moves your server into a different network than your local clients are.
