Plex refuses to connect to 127.0.0.1:32400

Server Version#: 127.1.5916
Player Version#:

Just as it says in the title. I went to stream a show today and my remote server access was unavailable. When I checked 32400 I received the following error message:

This site can’t be reached127.0.0.1 refused to connect.

Try:

Checking the connection

Checking the proxy and the firewall

ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

Any insight would be extremely helpful as I’m honestly at my wits end with Plex.

Sorry to hear of your connection difficulties. That’s super frustrating.

We should probably try to understand why your Remote Access stopped working rather than try to understand the nuances of connections when things are already wonky.

Although normally i would give the usual response, grab debug logs demonstrating the problem, I read here recently how Remote Access can go down once a week or so if you’re using UPnP to create the port forward rule on a router, because some routers flush the rules periodically.

Disabling UPnP on the router and making a static port forwarding rule to the PMS, then entering the port info into PMS was the suggested fix.

Sorry I didn’t know anyone replied to me… So I restarted the PC and ow I can connect to plex web. The problem is now that the remote connecting keeps dropping every few days unless I restart the PC. I’m not able to access UPNP or DHCP settings with my ISP gateway modem. Any suggestions?

you might call your ISP and ask them if they’ve noticed your modem having problems during that time period and whether they have a web portal on the modem for the user to access UPnP settings.

Routers may drop port forwardings after a while, if these were initiated automatically per UPnP.
Which is exactly what Plex server does when it is started.
If your router is dropping port forwardings, establish them manually, in the configuration of the router. Then tell Plex that you did so.
