Hello folks,
My friend is a dedicated Plex user. Two weeks ago, his ability to access his Plex Server (located at his home) from his current medical facility ceased to work properly. He launches the Plex app on his MacBook Pro and it starts, the windows goes black and he gets a spinning indicator.
Yesterday, I had him try using a VPN on the MacBook Pro and he was able to connect properly and run the Plex app although searches would not return anything. Today, he is back to a black screen with or without the VPN on his remote MacBook Pro. Two family members in different towns are able to access the Plex app remotely, so we know that it is working. As he is restricted for the time being to the medical facility, I wonder if there is some other setting that needs to be made at this remote location.
We know that ports are open because he uses an app called Screens to connect to the MacMini that is running Plex at this home and that app uses high ports, so i do not think his ISP at the medical facility is blocking. He has not control over the router at that location. His connection to the router is predominantly wireless, but we have tried it wired as well.
If anyone has solutions, they will be appreciated.
