I ran into a quirk in the new Roku Plex app involving the “Watched Indicators for Personal Media” setting and wanted to share in case others hit the same snag.
After toggling the setting to “None” to suppress checkmarks on watched content, the change worked on the home screen — the checkmarks disappeared. But when I opened the TV library (the grid view showing all series), the checkmarks were still visible on fully watched shows, which contradicted Plex’s intended logic.
To document the anomaly, I took photos of each screen, including the settings page showing “None” selected and the home screen with the checkmarks gone. I then meant to navigate to the TV library, but accidentally hit the Roku Home button, closing Plex. When I reopened the app, the checkmarks were gone from the TV library grid as expected — the setting had finally taken full effect.
Conclusion: The “Watched Indicators for Personal Media” setting may require a full app restart to apply consistently across all views. Interestingly, when I toggled the setting back to “Both” (TV and Movies), the change was instant across all screens — so this appears to be a one-off. Still, worth sharing in case someone else runs into the same UI inconsistency.
