Noticing ever since plex scanner was the only agent to use for matching, Justice League 2001 has been all messed up.
It has the incorrect episode line up that does not match any DB anywhere. Is there anywhere we can create a ticket to get something like that fixed?
There are 3 episode orderings to choose from. For each tv show individually, if need be.
Edit the show, go to the Advanced tab, Take your pick.
EDit: reading this now, I see that my post may feel condescending. I do not wish it to be so. I read too quickly and missed that you are a long-time user, so this info might be basic. I’ll leave it here in case it helps.
Plex - by default, uses TheMovieDB for TV Shows (I don’t know why a movie database by default). You can alternatively use TheTVDB instead for the entire library - or on a per-show basis - for episode ordering.
For the former, Edit > Manage Library, go to advanced, click the drop-down next to Episode ordering. Changing this now for the library may cause a metadata refresh for everything.
For the latter, edit the show by clicking the pencil icon at the show level (not season or episode level), and go to Advanced and click the drop-down next to Episode ordering.
Use a file renamer such as Filebot ($$$) or Rename My TV Series 2 (free) to make sure your episode filenames match that of TVDB/TMDB.
Its fine. I knew all of that, and had done all of that previously. But when a shared user went in today, they noticed there were now mismatches. So I went in I noticed nothing had been changed, it still was just set to default(which is just what I have the show library set for everything). So now when I updated to use the airing order, it fixed it. I am more so curious as to what the heck happened.
Not sure. Maybe it was a metadata refresh. I did one once on my animated collection a half a year ago, and for some reason some shows listed “new episodes” added recently. I definitely did not add anything new, but perhaps the episode ordering changed on a show on TVDB/TMDB, which caused new info to download for old episodes, which caused some to appear to be “new”. I don’t know. They were old shows, and I haven’t watched them to see if the filename now doesn’t match TVDB…
