Plex Scanner not picking up episodes from the directory

Recently added new episodes to an existing show on my plex server (Kaguya Sama: Love is War), but for some reason the episodes are not showing up on plex. I use Sonarr to make sure the naming convention for the files can be recognized by plex (Show Name SxxExx - Episode Name), so I don’t think it’s a name issue. I decided to move the entire show folder out of the directory the library is pointing at and then adding it back in to see if that would fix it, but now only one of the episodes are being picked up by plex. Not sure what to do about this as I am rather new to plex in general and have no previous experience with this type of issue. I took a look at the plex scanner logs and I am seeing errors for the particular show, but I am unsure as to what the actual issue is and how to go about resolving it.

The scanner I use is the Absolute Series Scanner and the Agent I use it HamaTV. If more information is needed, please let me know. If this isn’t the right place to ask about this issue, please let me know as well.

I do not have that agent or scanner on my system.

However, if it uses the Absolute order from TheTVDB, you will need to put everything in Season 01.

Plex Dance the show after renaming the episodes.

You might also try using Kaguya-sama Love is War (2019) instead of Kaguya-sama- Love is War for the show folder and episode names.

  • In general, it is best to leave out special characters such as a colon instead of replacing them with other characters such as a dash.
  • Adding the year will help Plex differentiate the show from others with similar names, specifically, “Kaguya-sama: Love is War Mini (2021).”

I changed the naming convention to Kaguya-sama Love is War (2019) like you said and that seemed to fix the problem entirely. I wonder why it was working all these weeks with the old naming convention, but then decided to break this week. Oh well, I’m happy that it’s fixed, I’m going to go change all my series to this naming convention now to prevent this from happening again. Thanks a lot for the help!
