The most effective method currently is still using a VPN. But I must say, Plex has let down so many lifetime subscribers from mainland China. I urge everyone not to subscribe to this software anymore; alternatives like Infuse can be used instead.

I’m very sorry to hear this news. As a user who purchased a lifetime membership, I can’t use the service. The solution is to make a small proxy update. I have to say that Plex is disappointing.

I’m a lifetime purchased user, I can’t use my desktop app on pc and Android app on TV for months. Apple device is good.
Can plex add an node in Mainland China?

在中国大陆增加一个代理服务器或者修改一下安卓TV和PC客户端的登陆方式就可以解决这个问题，IOS那边已经是可以使用了，但是安卓和PC的问题一直得不到解决

Plex seems to be completely unusable within mainland China. This includes, but is not limited to: the inability to scrape movie and TV show information and posters, difficulty logging into the application, and problems with application updates, including downloading transcoders after updates. It appears the Plex team is completely abandoning users in China.

i think it’s reasonable to request a refund since Plex cannot fulfill it’s service to customers.
maybe it’s the only way to get dev’s ass up to fix this problem .
I don’t know if it’s still not working for you guys but for my current experience it’s been working since Dec 2024. Just tested with Jiangsu Unicom and here’s the log, ofc no proxy, VPN and stuff.
