Plex search not Showing More Ways to watch results

since today the search has stopped working unsure what i have done

before i could do a search on windows 10 pc enter search and it would bring back searches in 3 cat top being media libarys
then underneath it would search movies and shows on plex
then 3rd discover ie where it was available on streaming places like netflix ,amazon

today its just showing in the search
media libarys
free on demand
somtimes movies and shows on plex

free on demand has appeared from no where in searches and streaming services have disappeared i have checked it says all in the search bar

i am the admin and signed in as admin
i have noticed in settings that i not noticed before is
settings-online media sourses

i have enbled
live tv
movies and tv
music

Discover
discover source is set to disabled for managed users
diplay more ways to watch is also disabled
both these settings only have option for disabled or disabled for managed users which seems to be the option i need enabled so i can search for more ways to watch but neither have the option to enable

Display Availabilities From other Streaming Services On Detail Pages this one is enabled

are all the sources enabled in search settings on right side of search bar?

yes all sources enabled in search bar

so this is not set to “disabled for managed users”?

“Disabled for managed users” means it is enabled for everyone else but managed users. There is no “enabled” because managed users cannot use the feature at all.

diplay more ways to watch is also disabled is -yes disabled wth only option disable or disable managed users

ok any other ideas what it could be why

Sorry Im not clear which one “DISPLAY “MORE WAYS TO WATCH” SEARCH RESULTS” is set to

“Disabled” or
“Disabled for Managed users” <— this means it is enabled for regular accounts… Are you using a Managed account?

Disabled for Managed users
i am using my admin account i habe also tried on other managed accounts and regular account all are the same wont dispay other places it can be viewed like netflix amazon

is this only happening in the web app? does it happen on mobile app or TV app for example?

happing on web app only by looks of things but have tried different browsers same results
mobile app is working ok
and so does tv ap

OK thanks. This appears to be a bug in app. The Web app team is looking into it.

ok thanks

ok thanks i have noticed it works fine in the same web browser on the same pc if i double click on the plex icon and enter plex through http://127.0.0.1:32400/ or the using ip address and port the search works correctly it appears it does not show the correct search results when entering plex tv in the search bar and going to https://www.plex.tv/en-gb/ then clicking on the open plex on your site which then takes you to https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/ the search is onl;y showing
media libaries
people
free on demand

so does that confirm a bug in the app ???

the app.plex.tv is a new version of the app that from what I’m told has the bug

yes i am running the latest version

This should be resolved now on app.plex.tv with 4.114.3. The reason 127.0.0.1 version was working correctly is this is a bundled PMS version, it typically lags behind what app.plex.tv runs.

2 posts were split to a new topic: Managed users cannot search local server

many thanks now working but i have noticed now another problem

on the plex web app if i am searching for a film its not appearing in the media part of the search and its only when i click on more ways to watch
it then appears in the boxs below watch from these locations
and even then not always appearing unless i hit refresh on the web browser then it will appear in the box below sometimes it will appear in the drop down media part of the search

i have tested using mobile app and that works fine everytime and items appear in the first part media libary as does if using the ip address or (http://127.0.0.1:32400/) address

its like it cant find it quick enough using plex web app and just goes to the other options either free to view or more ways to watch

i have updated to the latest version PlexMediaServer-1.32.6.7468-07e0d4a7e-x86_64

All of search has been changed now so please take a screenshot of what you are seeing.

There is still a bug in which localhost and app.plex.tv web players cannot search Discover for new movies. Previously, the search function found find in-theater movies for adding to Watchlist.

Just updated my Ubuntu (Beta) and Win10 (Public) installations, and neither of its players or access types search in Discover. No screenshots. This description is enough to get a picture of the issue.

IIRC, there used to be a Discover checkbox able to be added to the right of the search bar. Only current Plex servers appear there, now. For example, searching for “The Creator” yields only two “Jackass 4.5” and “Jackass Forever” movies and the person “Tyler, the creator.” The movie in theaters called “The Creator” is not a search result.

All Settings → Streaming Services have been enabed, for both servers, which I manually verified.
I even went to Settings → Watchlist and generated a new Watchlist URL, in case that matters.

Do I need to go back through all of the Streaming Services, uncheck each one and Save, and then do the same thing in reverse order? I’m miffed.
