“Whose Line is it anyway?” and “Whose line is it anyway? (US)” are two different series on tvdb and imdb (and sonarr). However, Plex seems to refuse to acknowledge that they are in different folders and insists on lumping them together, making the seasons overlap.
I can’t find a way to force plex to scan folder 1 for show nr 1, and folder nr 2 for show nr 2. Anybody got a clue on how to solve this?
Please show the folder structure and file names you are using.
Please do also mention at which folder you have pointed your tv show library
(If you have forgotten, find out by editing your library, go to the ‘Add Folders’ tab)
I have Sonarr set up to store the files of the “Whose Line is it Anyway?” show in the “/volume1/series/Whose Line is it Anyway? (1988-1998)” folder.
The “Whose Line is it Anyway? (US)” show is stored in the “/volume1/series/Whose Line is it Anyway? (US) (1998-2007)” folder.
S01E01 of the first show is “/volume1/series/Whose Line is it Anyway? (1988-1998)/Season 1/Whose Line is it Anyway! S01E01 Archie Hahn, Josie Lawrence, Paul Merton, John Sessions.mkv”
My tv show library is pointed at the /volume1/series folder, and picks up my other 40 shows just fine.
Do only use the first year (when S01E01 was aired), not the ‘range’. Since 1998 appears in both of your folder names, Plex might mistake them as the same series.
Perform the Plex Dance after changing the folder names.
Only add the shows back separately.
Don’t download/rip directly into folders which are monitored by Plex. Always use a temporary folder until the file is complete and has the correct filename. Only then copy/move it into the destination folder.
