Plex series will not match The Daily Show, search finds other shows

Using PlexDVR with HDHomeRun Prime and Charter/Spectrum Digital

When I started recording The Daily Show last year, the only title it would match with was “The Daily Report”. Nothing I could do would make it match correctly until I finally switched from the Plex Series lookup to the legacy lookup tool in settings. Recently I’ve been getting warnings that I need to switch away from the legacy match system, so I did, and now I’m back to The Daily Report.

No matter what I do, it refuses to match the new recordings in TV shows with The Daily Show. I’ve tried every iteration of the title I could think of as well as tvdb-whateverTheNumberIs.

Four things are strange:

1. in the LiveTV guide and DVR schedule, it lists it as The Daily Show with the correct description.
2. The older recordings still show up in the TV shows section as The Daily Show. But the day I switched to the other match system, that title stopped updating.
3. The location of the recordings is still my folder that Plex auto-named "The Daily Show (2023) and the SxxExx descriptions seem to be correct! But for some reason there are two copies of each recording. See screenshot
4. The Plex DVR seems to record Monday night episodes at their correct 60 minute length but then the (copy 1) recorded afterwards is only 30 minutes, and this is the one that shows up when browsing episodes on my AndroidTV viewer.

I believe I’ve refreshed Metadata in the past. I really don’t want to have to wipe and reload all my data and then re-import it. What are my options?

I recently noticed a similar issues for UK TV listings for the 1960s “Batman” tv series and " “MacGyver”
they are in the guide, but when searched for using (Live TV filter) the shows only showed up if they have Batman or MacGyver in the episode name, I could then click on the series name for that episode to view the rest of the episodes. This seems to be a recent problem, perhaps starting one or two updates ago (I am on the latest release as of writing this. Version 1.99.0.210-2d92b948). I can work around the issue by finding a episode of the show and opening the series listing from there.
I’m guessing some series tag is missing for the filter.

I think this might because of the year in your file names. The correct one from TVDB is 1996. (The currently-airing Daily Show is considered a continuation of Jon Stewart and Trevor Noah’s edition; not a new series).
