I found many people use plex server on WD ex4100 have the problem of server crash!
So I want to provide my crash report & plex server log files for plex team to help.
I will post the two files on this discussion section every time when my plex server on WD ex4100 crash!
2015/12/01 Server Crash.
Thanks - these have been referred to the devs as further crashes to those reported here

How long does it take for the server to crash ? if the previous log files go back to time server was launched last - please zip them and attach the zip
Plex Media Server.log.1 - previous log file
Plex Media Server.log.2 - one before it
Plex Media Server.log.5 - oldest log file
I posted on the other thread about this topic with logs. However, i can pretty much make mine go away at will with just logging in and scrolling through the posters on my PC. If I don’t do that and just access the content via my roku and let it fail on it’s own it is hard to say. It can go for days without issue but sometimes i can get up most morning and find it down. Sometimes it fails while i’m scrolling through the content on Plex. I’ve had to restart it in the middle of a movie and start movie back up again. Lastly, it almost always crashes when i upload new content to it.
OK , I see. I’ll pack the new “Plex Media Server.log” and the previous .log.(1~5) from now on !
By the way , because I was very busy last week , I miss a crash report between “2015/12/01 Server Crash.” and “2015/12/16 Server Crash.” . I’m sure there was only just one crash.
The new server crash just happened after a few hours when I was watching the movie “Crimson Peak” by Plex Web on Chrome around 1:48 am today.
I pack all of the Plex Media Server.log(the new & previous) immediately.
If there is any file you want me to provide , please just tell me !

Thanks for the extra log files and further dump.
The log activity before each of the 2 crashes you reported is different - so probably means no clues from the logs
First crash was at Dec 15, 2015 21:34 after the server running without a crash for a number of days. Supplied logs go back to December 10th and that was not when the server launched. So a number of days before crashing
The second crash was Dec 16, 2015 01:37 and this happened after just over an hour of launching the Plex Media Server (launched at 00:18).
I will add these 2 crash dmps to the set referred to the Plex Devs
2015/12/17 Server Crash.
This time plex crash and can’t get work by just restarting plex server application in NAS.
I have to restart my WD ex4100 NAS and it get work finally.
2015/12/17 Server 2nd Crash when my sister used plex tv app for samsung smart tv.
Thank you - i have added these crashes. I think you have given them enough dumps.
So the plex dev. don’t need the more Crash Report ?
If so , I think I can stop upload the Crash Report Files.
The plex devs will be replacing the binary later today - i will update this topic when done.
2015/12/18 Server Crash.
Any updates on this topic? I still have a server that goes offline every day. It is very frustrating.
I am having te same issue with the Plex Server. Spent a ton of time setting up all my media, getting all the metadata downloaded, creating a Plex account etc. Only to have the Plex app continually telling me “Server unavailable”. I have all the latest firmware and app updates installed.
Latest update on the crashing issue on the ARM7 WD NAS units is here
I am having the same issue with the server going away on my WD ex4100. Here are my log files as well.

Thanks for getting the logs and crash. The advice I have from the devs is to wait for the new binaries and we will see after that what issues remain. Hopefully these crashes will stop.
I am having similar issues with my plex server saying “server unavailable” about once a month or so and the only way i found to fix it is to delete plex plugin on FreeNAS then add it back and set everything back up again then good for another few months… Maybe
