Ok. Uninstalled and then installed plex again on my synology. I launch the plex media server and it asks for me to log in so I do but again with the officeip:32400 address. I’m not sure at this point how I am supposed to claim the server. I guess I’ll just have to go there on location and figure it out.
Check this support article and see if anything there might help…

This may seem silly and stupid and overlooked but have you clicked the server picker on the left hand side of plex web to toggle between your two servers?
(i only have one server, hence why mine only shows one)
Wouldn’t both servers still show up in the list of “Authorized Devices” on the app as well???
Yes I believe so
He states it doesn’t… Also says he never had to claim this second server…
Right I was skimming along this thread …
Well this is obviously above my skill level so I will bow out and let you take it from here!!!
Sorry I was not able to help figure out a solution…
So just because you’re logging into a new server on your Syno via the local IP does not mean you’ve signed into your Plex account, which will associate the server. Hit the top right corner of the web interface and make sure you’ve signed in.
Just an update. I removed all servers from the plex account to start off from scratch. uninstalled plex server from both machines and just logged into the plex but still shows that my home server is tied and not connected. That’s fine for now. Installed plex in both machines and and logging into web app shows my home server is now connected but that’s the only server showing up. Logging in to my office one via vpn can’t seem to find it locally.
Will try to see if I can use the information in your profile @trumpy81
@trumpy81 I followed your steps and was able to claim my office server! Now I’m not able to claim my home server using the same method. Last part in putty comes up with:
Fatal error happened
HTTP returned Status 401
and returns me to the prompt. Could it be because I have 2 step authentication on the machine at home?
Please expand on above
I have 2-stpe authentication on my synology when I login. I have gone ahead and turned it off and restarted my synology and tried again to claim it thinking the 2-step authentication was probably what caused the issue. Still the same error message when trying the claimit.sh file.
Ok great news. For some reason now I see both servers. Thank you all for the help. I guess a restart was all it needed!

both there and works now!
Good, glad you got it straight…
I knew it had to do with something about the server(s) not being claimed… Figures there was something specific to the Synology version of PLEX…
Enjoy!!!
the ClaimIt script will return 401, if server is already claimed!
I guess you claimed your local server, but it for some reason couldn’t update it’s status on plex.tv, and a restart helped it
2 factor auth is a Synology thing, and has no impact on Plex, AFAIK
