Plex Server began buffering in web browser

Server Version#: 1.14.1.5488
Player Version#: 3.85.2com.plexapp.system.log (209.0 KB)

I’ve been having with buffering on my mac’s through the chrome and safari browser. In addition, there has been buffering utilizing the app on the xbox one. It started happening fairly recently after updating to the latest server version. I often have to close the stream and reopen it multiple times for it to begin working. Once it begins working though it usually will play through to the end of the episode and then when starting the next one it begins to buffer endlessly again. I’ve recreated the issue and uploaded the logs. The it also seems to be happening with mostly MKV files. Any help is appreciated! I’m also viewing on my local network and currently running an i7 w/16gb ram.

This has happened three times for me too, but only for audio files

Yeah, happens for me too. About every 5-10 minutes when playing .mkv’s. It started after the latest update ( Version 1.15.0.659) with webclient Version 3.77.4. The only way to resume playing is to close the stream and start again. Happens both on local network and remote.

This is happening to me as well, on web client and roku, almost 10min to the second. Once again it seems like 1 step forward and 2 steps back with updating.

It does appear, at least for the moment, that the current version(public Version 1.15.3.876) has solved the 10 Minute play time bug, hopefully this is the last we will see of that.

On another side note, there was an update to android and Roku to reflect the web client yet again…Which I am grateful for…but one thing that seems to constantly happen on the web client is the order of the covers. I.E.: the recently added tv or movies always change location upon a page refresh or opening of browser, unlike the Roku/ android update which allows the user to set what the preferred first in the order is on the home page. If that same flexibility was incorporated into the plex web interface and not changed I would think we all struck gold!

It would mean all interfaces resemble each other and we can set the layout on the home page according to what we, the users, prefer. A huge step for PLEX and a humbling step for users. The back-end can still be updated of course but that front-end functionality is crucial to the user side of the experience.
