Plex server cannot see media on NAS

Server Version#: 1.16.5.1552
Player Version#: Roku

Trying to add libraries from Mycloud NAS. Running Plex server on Synology NAS. Nothing shows up. Does media have to be on the same machine as the server? I read somewhere else “no.” Also, can media be in subfolders, such as by season (TV shows).

If you are mounting from a remote source, make certain user plex can read everything at and below the “mount point”

What in the world does this mean? - “If you are mounting from a remote source, make certain user plex can read everything at and below the “mount point””

It means eg. if on Plex you have a library defined as /volume1/Movies you have to login into Synology DSM, open “Controle Panel” then “Shared Folder” and probably you have a “Movies” or “Media” top-level folder (under which you might have sub-folders), do “Edit” and check “Permissions” and make user user “plex” (has at least READ" rights !
