I set my music library to prefer local metadata, and manually tagged some live albums. I have done this several times with several artists. Recently however, there is one artist that plex completely ignores my tags and is renaming the band to another random band. This one artist is the only one affected as far as I can tell. If I manually change it in plex, it works, until plex scans the library again, and then it changes it back. All of my manual tagging was done outside of plex on the music files themselves. I don’t know what else to try.
Does the artist exist at musicbrainz.org?
Is the album actually a collaboration between two or more artists, which also have solo releases?
How does the folder structure look like where this album is stored?

Hi, thanks for the response. I’ll try to answer everything in order. Yes, the artist exists in musicbrainz. No, not a collab, just a live recording of a concert. Folder structure is Music>Artist>Album. Yes, I use mp3tag to manually tag all the info for my live music. It’s really weird because I’ve done this the exact same way for around 50+ live shows for another band and no problems. Thanks again for your help.
