The log info in your post does not have enough information. It looks like debug level logging is disabled, as there are no messages containing DEBUG.

Please do the following:

  1. Ensure your server is set for debug level logs. Do not enable verbose logs.
    Settings → Server_Name → General (show advanced)

  2. Restart Plex Media Server.

  3. After the next crash, restart Plex Media Server.
    Wait for Plex to fully start, 2 - 3 minutes. This lets the log files capture the startup sequence.

  4. Pull log files via Settings → Troubleshooting.
    Attach the entire ZIP file to the thread.
    Drag it into the message window. It will attach at the cursor location.

Apparently it happens when one of my family group members is trying to manage a playlist through Plexamp app. When he opens playlist server goes down.

I can’t even open playlist section from his account. More - even tatutulli can’t fetch playlists of this users via API. Maybe I can somehow clean all playlist of this user? Or purge all the data for him?

I’ve created a new account for that user. Added him to home group. He tried to create a playlist in WEB app. After that he opened created playlist in Plexamp, chaned the rule and pressed “Save”. Immidiately after that server crashed. Now when he is trying to open playlists page in WEB app the server crashes.

Any help would be appreciated as it seems to be some glitch in Plexamp application.

any info on what the rule was? it generally works, so seems like it just be something unique/weird which causes the issue.

We’ve done a bit testing and it seems that it’s not the complexity of filter cause this issue. I’ve made a simple playlist with match all of the following rules like album title not contains, track title not contains and artist contains.

After that user started Plexamp app, located this playlist and removed one rule from this filter. When pressed “Save” application crashed.

I’ve found the crash in the server, will be addressed in a subsequent release (the most important part).

Additionally, we’ll track down why Plexamp is sending bad rules over in some cases.

I just reinstalled Windows and built a brand new PMS with the latest Plex version as of July and it is crashing like a mofo. Left and right. Constant. Even crashes after it crashes and I restart my PC. The crashing is unbearable. Freaking ridiculous.

Does your crash seem related to using Plexamp and editing playlists?

If so, please attach a set of debug level server logs that capture the crash and Plex Media Server restart.

If not, please open up a new thread with problem description and log files capturing the problem.
