I have been using the Plex server for several years with only minor issues at times. The day before yesterday, the server crashed…I had to log in, delete all authorized devices (except server), log out, and restart computer. This fixed the problem for a few hours and it has been crashing after every restart after an hour or so rendering the server essentially unusable. Prior to the issue, I made no new changes to software, hardware, router, etc., etc. I uninstalled and reinstalled, again worked for an hour or so, but crashed again and the problem persists. Not what has caused this issue, but would like some advice as to how to repair it. Any advice would be appreciated.

Well, Goodbye Plex. After many years this product has let me down. I will say, it has always been buggy, but nothing that couldn’t be overcome with a little knowledge and research. With Plex, you get absolutely no support from whomever your money goes to. Great to suggest that it’s because it is a “free” program, but you would expect some support (other than FAQs and guidelines) after paying $5/month for as long as I have, but unfortunately this is what you get from Plex. Just a small warning to anyone reading this. Hope you have better luck when you run into a significant issue. I will suggest Emby to anyone having issues. Installed it…has run flawlessly since and although it’s not quite as pleasing to the eye as Plex was, it at least runs and doesn’t crash continuously. And it essentially does everything I need it to do. Some things better. Oh well, goodbye old friend!
