Server Version#: 1.23.4.4775
Player Version#: Multiple
Hey guys repeated crashes of plex server spanning the last couple of months. Sometime it is multiple times a day at times only every few days. Can’t seem to figure out what the issue is. Sometimes the process is just missing altogether from task manager other times it is there and must be stopped to restart plex. I am willing to share logs privately but would rather not expose IP addresses on this public forum.
Have kept plex server up to date. But the players are on multiple devices. Including Web OS, iOS, Windows Desktops, Android. So I’m not certain what player version they are all on but the players are all running okay.
Can you turn off the option to send the crash reports to Plex? This will keep the logs on your computer. After the next crash, restart PMS to generate the crash report. Then provide me that crash report and the PMS server from before the restart. Should be the “plex media server.1.log” file.
Been searching the heck out of the forums and have found a couple of things:
The time issue - never been a problem before but the console shows “not a time machine” error, even though everything (including the server) is set to BST (GMT+1)
There’s 1 managed user that seems to be impacted more than others (I have to switch to my user then back to her’s on her tablet) for items to show
It’s generally flakey where it’s been rock solid and my go to since I bought my plexpass… which happens to be Oct '13!
Your logs show it crashing around the time it tried to scan “Kuhnya.2.(17.seriya)”. Double check that the file is not damaged. Also check other episodes in case it’s another one. A crash can happen if the scanner runs into a file that is damaged.
In your PMS settings, there is an option to send crash reports to Plex. Turn that off. That will leave the crash report on your computer in a crash folder in your App Data folder.
Grab the crash log and the PMS logs after this happens.
I’ll need the logs after this too. And the Android log as well.
