Plex server disappears when claiming new server

I have PMS on 2 different OS, Windows and NixOS. Prior to installing PMS on NixOS, I had no problems with claiming a server and having it available. After installing PMS on NixOS and claiming the server, the connection to my Windows PMS disappears and is no longer connected. I can open the hosted webapp on the Windows machine, but the server does not show up.

I followed the steps here https://support.plex.tv/articles/204604227-why-can-t-the-plex-app-find-or-connect-to-my-plex-media-server/ to reclaim my server. As soon as I claim the server on Windows, the other server on NixOS becomes unavailable and vice-versa.

Online documents say that you can have as many servers as you want, as long as it’s one install per machine. My case shows that you can have at most 3 active servers (I have PMS installed on 2 other machines with no issues.). Am I wrong to believe that I can have more than 3 servers?

You can run more servers under your account.
Did you by chance create the newest server by migrating one of your other instances (e.g. transferring the existing server’s machine identifier(s)?

No, I bought a new machine and installed plex for the first time. The server name is also different from any existing ones under my account.

Ultimately I want to bring this issue up in case other folks run into this situation. Likewise, if anyone has 3+ server claimed under their account, please chime in!

So far it really does seem that I can only have 3 active servers at a time.

In the settings for remote access, see that you don’t assign the same external port number that another one of your Plex servers is already using.
Each of your servers must have an individual external port number. Otherwise it looks to plex.tv as if a new server is replacing an existing server in your WAN connection.

Are you trying to dual-boot the same machine into Linux and Windows? That will probably not work anyway for a Plex server.

All of my machines boot into Windows except my NAS and dedicated plex server. They all had PMS installed, static IP assigned, and ports specified for each IP on both web UI and router.

My solution was removing unused PMS from my other machines and keeping my server claimed at 3 and less. As of today, my dedicated machine is still running PMS with no problems.

Update:
PMS running off NixOS has been up and uninterrupted for 7 days now
