Plex server is always getting stuck scanning a particular movie, is there a way for me to resolve this or it a known bug with movies using unusual characters in the name?
I am using the Plex Scanner for my movies.
Hi trumpy81, the server is already running the latest version. Only beta’s have been published since.
I have now updated to version 1.23.3.4707 but the issue still exists and the scanner is still getting stuck on the same movie, as a result new movies cannot be found unless I restart PMS. The ‘Cancel Scan’ button is unable to resolve the problem, manual scans after restarting do not work. Could this be an issue with apostrophe in the name?
How about grabbing the log files and attaching them?
The naming won’t cause the scanning to get stuck. It will only impact the results.
I suspect there is a problem with the file contents.
It was as you said, I chucked the file through Handbrake and the scanner now gets stuck on a file name further down the list lol
Not to poke too hard but? “G.I. - G.O.” happening here ?
If you repeat the test and result on another, I think you should review and adjust your media curation technique.
What is G.I - G.O?
