Since the recent announcement that legacy scanners will be dropped, I’ve tried switching back to the new scanner. I’m still getting the same error as I was last time when triggering a scan (and no new items are being picked up). Post from 2 years ago
Here is the relevant logs out of Plex Media Server.log
Here is the attached log. plex.log (5.2 KB)
I’m adding the relevant error line so it’s searchable in the future

Aug 25, 2024 09:21:13.109 [0x70000db6e000] ERROR - Exception caught scanning directory: [/Volumes/Media/Movies] (The complexity of matching the regular expression exceeded predefined bounds. Try refactoring the regular expression to make each choice made by the state machine unambiguous. This exception is thrown to prevent "eternal" matches that take an indefinite period time to locate.)
I narrowed it down to this folder name The Vow (2012) - 65388049634245462The.Vow.iso. there exists one file in this folder with The Vow (2012).mp4
I created a new Movie library that contains ONLY the folder above. The scanner will not pick up this folder and simple crashes w/ the same error message above.
If I rename the folder to The Vow (2012) and force a re-scan, the scanner completes.
