Plex Server Inaccessible from Remote/Localhost but available from VM.

So I have the latest PMS (0.9.16.0.1754-23623fb according to apt-get) installed on my Ubuntu 16.04 (Xenial Xerus) server.

  • I’ve tried connecting using SSH to localhost tunneling. This fails after login, initially saying it cant connect securely, then not at all.
  • Tried connecting using app.plex.tv, same result.
  • Tried using the Mobile app, no dice.

However, if I connect through a VM, proxying through apache2, it works and I can access all of my media.

I’ve tried removing it, using “apt-get purge plexmediaserver” and removing /var/lib/plexmediaserver, rebooting, and reinstalling. After that, I can setup the server and link it with my account. But it fails after setup and I’m back to square one.

Attached are the logs for app.plex.tv (from the browser console),and from the server.

I have since purged the server and deleted /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library as I wait for a response.

I’ve solved this by doing a complete reset on the server (all of the content is in the cloud anyways)
