My Plex Media Server keeps randomly crashing on me. Im not sure if it only happens when someone is remotely playing my content or not, but I usually dont know its crashed until friends or family send me a message to let me know. On their end, they’ll get a message about my server not accepting secure connections even though I have secure connections set to preferred. I’ll attach my server logs and would appreciate any help in reviewing them. Thanks!
Server Version#: 1.21.0.3711
Player Version#: N/A(File removed)
Still trying to make sense of those logs.
Looks like there’s been some hiccup with the transcoding of a file.
For now just one side note / observation… you should not move the executable of the Plex Media Server off its default location (C:\Program Files...). That’s a known source for odd behavior.
Thank you very much for taking the time to review the logs.
Is it relatively straight forward to move the installation directory back to the C: drive? I have no problem doing that but does that also mean all of the metadata is stored on the C drive?
Regarding the transcoding issue, I also see transcoding errors when I try to stream content to my TV in the living room (same network as my server). It doesnt seem to happen for TV shows but we could be in the middle of a movie and the Plex app on our Roku will throw an error about there being a transcoding issue. We have to restart the whole movie and skip ahead to the proper time.
