Plex Server Keeps dropping WD Nas

Server Version#: Version 1.17.0.1841

Help!!

Plex Server on Windows keeps losing the Nas settings every time Plex restarts. I add the settings and it works great.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Thanks!

What do you mean by that?
What kind of NAS settings?
Is the server running on Windows or on your NAS?

It’s a Windows Plex Server with the library on a WD Nas drive. When I load Plex it loses the Nas library which it hasn’t done before. So I need to remount the drive again (Y:\My Movies) and the it works again. Is there a setting I’m missing as it worked for quite some time.

Does that make sense now?

If, after a reboot, there is no drive letter Y: then that’s a Windows issue and has nothing to do with Plex.
You need to tell Windows to always remount the drive letter upon login. There should be a checkbox when you mount the file share.
For this to work, the file server/NAS must be online and ready when the user login occurs.

(If your Plex server is running as a Windows System Service, there is technically no login performed. So that an added hurdle.)

There is also a nasty Windows issue with user/password for accessing file shares: they don’t work reliably.
You should create a user account on your NAS with identical username and password like you use on the Windows machine.
That way, Windows can authenticate automatically (and reliably) over the network.
