@sogalitno Link to the other thread please?
Yea this GitHub repository has the links:
So to rollback… I backup my DB… Uninstall current version, install older stable version … How do I get the DB imported back so I can have my recordings, etc back…
TIA
3 hours after downgrading and my Plex Media Server just crashed again.
@C0rdKatter Don’t bother downgrading. My Plex Media Server just stopped again 3 hours after downgrading.
I have enabled verbose logging and will upload the new logs tomorrow.
I have rolled back to 1.26.0.5715 as @xsirxx did…
I will know tomorrow when my first wake event happens to access PMS from my iPad to view an ongoing recording scheduled…
Update: My rollback fixed the PMS stopping/crashes… But PlexDVRWaker is now having issues…

Minor hiccup… what’s important is I am back to stability.
I want to clarify my problem. PMS isn’t crashing. It’s stopping. Like some exited the program shutting it off. It happens randomly. Sometimes when no one is using Plex and sometimes when something is being watched.
Yesterday I downgraded. 3 hours later is stopped again. It has not stopped since that time, about 12 hours ago.
Someone in another thread mentioned deleting all content in the codec folder. I did that because it was quick and was worth a try.
I still have verbose enabled. I will wait for it to stop again and review the logs.
Unless you specifically know what your looking for the Verbose will hit the file limit every 3 minutes so unless you are able to download immediately the detail will be lost.
@pl_5309 I was unaware that verbose hits it’s file limits every 3 minutes. Is that documented anywhere? It does not say that in the software.
At this point I’ll wait and see if PMS stops again. If it does I’ll keep rolling versions back until the problem doesn’t happen.
If there is any other advice, I am willing to try. It’s getting very frustrating spending so much time troubleshooting a problem with software that I paid for.
@sdoofbuc If you look at Event Viewer - Applications, you will see App Crash and Application errors. I rolled back to 1.26.0.x.x and no more stopping… my PC PMS Server gracefully sleeps and wakes with PMS on the ready and active…
It is really IMO with the 1.27.x.x releases
Win 10 Here, always the latest and greatest build, patch sets, etc…
Documentation just says:
Warning! : Please DO NOT turn on the verbose logging option unless specifically instructed to do so. That level of logging is rarely desired and can hamper investigations.
@pl_5309 Got it, thanks.
Ok well I still haven’t had a crash after rolling back to 1.26.0.5715. Before I couldn’t even watch two videos back to back. I should note that I don’t use any of these dvr features some others do. So I’m in a happy spot now :). No more updating for me.
@xsirxx Same Bro… rolled back to 1.26.0.5715 and the issue with the random stoppages (actual app arashes and errors per Windows Event Logs) is gone… now if I can fix my PlexDvrWaker issue - this puts the cherry on the icecream… @Kris3KGT - you’re my only hope Obi Wan Kris sir…
;^)
@xsirxx That’s good to hear. I had PMS stop once. But I’m going on 24 hours up time with version 1.26.2.5797.
That’s good to hear, glad we atleast are finding paths forward. Eventually Plex will have to step up and recognize they killed servers, maybe.
@C0rdKatter You’ll have to go back to PlexDvrWaker v2.1.2. PMS v1.26.2.5797+ changed their database schema which I had to fix in v2.1.3+.
