I had crashing issues for years. I finally decided to rebuild my entire Plex server with a clean Windows install and new Plex install. That finally fixed my crashing issues. I was stable for months now. It was so nice. However, I am getting crashing again this past week. Which is daily and means it’s not going to stop unless I do something again.
I always update to the latest PMS versions, so maybe it has to do with that. I am not sure. I also do use an HDHomerun device. I may try to rollback now.
PMS stopped once since downgrading to version 1.26.2.5797. It has been up and running for over 30 hours since then.
For me on my setup (windows OS) it looks as version 1.27.x is unstable. Others with different setups (linux, synology, etc) are running 1.27.x just fine.
Just reporting same issue. Happened multiple times in the past month or two and I was kind of just writing it off to computer BS until now when I found this thread and also the reddit thread.
Happened yesterday live while updating posters. Went to click over to the next movie and it locked up. Tray icon remains but you cannot load anything in the server.
Good grief Plex this is a stupid freaking bug to introduce after years. Can ya maybe fix this stupid crap.
I have 1.26.0.5715 I think I’ll do the same and downgrade. New bug now, Plex is unable to see a mounted network drive … even if all the users have full access …
My Plex Media Server now has to be restarted every morning on my Mac mini server after being rock solid for so long. I had issues with other areas of my server so I decided I would do a full reinstall of macOS Monterey and I followed the instructions on how to back my Plex Media Server, Once I put everything back as expected my Server showed OFFLINE and I had to remove it and add it again, even though nothing had changed and it had the same name and all my media was still on the same external hard drive as before. Next I noticed all my users needed to be granted access to their libraries again. Once this was done everyone could watch their media again and it would remember what people had been watching etc BUT now every morning when I get up the Media Server I’m assuming has crashed. It will work again perfectly once it is opened again but it will crash every night, I saw there was a server update yesterday so I installed it hoping maybe there might be a change but it still crashed like before.
