Dear Plex,
Yesterday, my internet connection went down and I could’t access anymore my Plex server set up on the LAN -
is this how things are supposed to be or am I missing something?
the server is inside the network and internet connectivity issues on the wan shouldn’t affect my ability to access content stored in my lan
Yes, Please Plex employees - I’ve seen this asked elsewhere and yet to have seen a usable answer.
Same problem started today…
Around 1.0 plex moved to online only authentication and the only alternative since has been to turn off authentication locally.
This really needs a better option, I believe at one point they had planned on caching authentication to some degree or something but I haven’t seen it.
Plex becomes unusable if the internet is down or if the plex authentication servers are down. It looks like at least twice ? in the last 30 days the plex servers have gone down for a noticeable amount of time.
