I updated my mac the other week and now the server is not connecting. I’ve installed and uninstalled the server software, reset everything known to mankind but still cannot connect. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Not connecting to what ? Local network device ? remote wan connection?
Do you access the server ok locally through :
On the mac itself in a browser to http://127.0.0.1:32400/web
from a device on the local network in a browser to http://192.168.86.27:32400/web
Nope. No access through the loopback or through localhost.
Does the Plex Media Server app show as running on the mac when you look at the running processes within Activity Monitor ?
You could try to locate the server logs and copy them out and attach here

Yes, Activity monitor shows that Plex is running.

I need all of them - so please copy out the contents of the directory and zip the copy and attach as one compressed zip file
Best to restart the server and then 5 minutes after Plex Media Server is launched, try to access the server directly in a browser on the Mac itself through http://127.0.0.1:32400/web
Note down the time and get the screenshot of what happens
Then copy out all the logs and compress and attach with screenshots and time
The logs do not show any request hitting the server through http://127.0.0.1:32400/web or http://local-ip-of-server:32400/web
What time / date did you try?
Have you started any other application after launching Plex Media Server that may be using tcp port 32400 ? Do you run any proxy software ?
You can run the following command in terminal to see what ports are being listened for and by what process
sudo lsof -i -P | grep -i "listen" > lsof-ports-listen_2002-Jul-09.txt
Attach the output file with your logs zip
lsof-ports-listen_2002-Jul-09.txt
Any new security software installed that may be blocking port 32400?
PS:
You have the frequency of periodic library scans set to run every 5 minutes - that is a bit excessive. Should reduce it to be every 60 minutes or so. (Will have to wait until server settings can be accessed )
