Every few days my server goes offline requiring me to exit out of Plex and restarting the program. It will run fine for a few days and then go offline again. I have downloaded the logs, but I’m unsure what I’m looking for.
I would say upload the logs, or describe your server setup in more detail.
Is the plex server running throughout and just not loading the page? What steps have you taken to troubleshoot? Hard to know what you mean since you didn’t even mention your OS.
Can you do //localhost:32400 on the computer PMS is installed on when it’s “offline”? I’m trying to figure out if this is an intermittent connection issue or if PMS is actually stalled.
Plex Media Server Logs_2025-05-07_15-25-03.zip (4.5 MB)
Here are the logs. I’m running Windows 11. When it goes offline Plex loads as a program but my server is not found. In the settings I don’t have access to any of the server setup until I reboot the program.
It’s offline now. [//localhost:32400] gives me a 503 Service Unavailable
Update to the latest server relase.
Set the automatic library update to every 2 hours, not every 15 minutes. Better even longer.
Depending on your server’s performance and the size of your media collection, it could start library scans even before the previous one is finished.
If you urgently need to add an item now, there is always a way to kick off a manual library scan.
Manually grab the logs the next time your is not accessible. It’s had to tell when things are working.
Plex Media Server.1 - Copy.zip (904.7 KB)
It is currently offline. Here is the logs.
Can you look at the file size of the primary server database file?
If it’s larger than 1 GB and your older database backups in the same folder are significantly smaller, you might be affected by this: Library.db size more than doubled in latest version - #64 by drzoidberg33
From the looks of it, you are not affected by the DB balloning.
